UNFCCC Methodologies Panel recommends approval of proposal NM0034-rev2
(Granja Becker Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mitigation Project, Brazil)

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, September 30, 2004

The Methodologies Panel of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) today, released from its headquarters in Bonn,
Germany the report of the twelfth meeting held on September 5-6, 2004.

The meeting report included the recommendations by the Methodologies Panel to the UNFCCC Executive Board regarding proposed new methodologies. To this end, the Methodologies Panel recommended the approval of proposal NM0034-rev2 (Granja Becker Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mitigation Project, Brazil).

The proposed baseline and monitoring methodology for greenhouse gas emissions mitigation from improved animal waste management systems (AWMS) in confined animal feeding operations was developed and submitted by AgCert Canada.

The proposed methodology, NM0034-rev2 is designed to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from improved animal waste management systems in confined animal feeding operations.
