Biographies
Mr. Haskell is an executive with over 20 years' experience in creating and building technology companies. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Haskell has co-founded several companies. Mr. Haskell's experience reflects a combination of executive management, private equity investment and company creation. In 2001, Mr. Haskell co-founded XL TechGroup, Inc. which was floated on the London Stock Exchange (AIM: XLT) in 2004 and has served as its President and COO since inception. Previously, Mr. Haskell co-founded XL Vision Inc. in 1993 and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Haskell was also part of the early management team at Internet Capital Group where he served as Managing Director of Operations. Prior to XLVision, Mr. Haskell spent over a decade in various technical and management roles in private industry. Mr. Haskell earned a degree in engineering and applied mathematics from Iowa State University.
Immediately prior to joining AgCert, Mr. D'Alton was Chief Financial Officer of Waterford Wedgwood plc, a position he held from May 2004.
From 2002 to 2004, while Principal of Ranelagh Consultants Ltd, he carried out significant interim management assignments, including Chairman of the Committee of independent directors of Riverdeep plc during a management buy out.
Between 1991 and 2001 Mr. D'Alton was Chief Financial Officer of Bank of Ireland and a member of its Court of Directors. From 1989 to 1991 he was Chief Financial Officer of Aer Lingus. Mr. D'Alton is Director of Aer Arann, the lrish regional airline. He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Studies from University College Dublin and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Mr. Gitlin joined AgCert in March of 2006 from Baker & Hostetler LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s Denver, Colorado office. During his fifteen year legal career, Mr. Gitlin has represented clients in complex corporate and transactional matters including debt and equity finance, infrastructure project development and finance, intellectual property and technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development and finance matters, joint ventures and strategic alliances, with a particular emphasis on transactions in Latin America. He previously served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of New Global Telecom, Inc., a Colorado based "carrier's carrier" telecommunications provider, where he assisted the company in a successful Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. Mr. Gitlin holds a law degree (J.D. cum laude) from the Harvard Law School, a Masters in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and an A.B. (with highest distinction, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California, Berkeley. He is admitted to practice in California, Colorado and the District of Columbia.
Shayne Reeb is responsible for providing the strategic vision for the Company's information technology systems. Mr. Reeb has years of expertise in global enterprise system architecture planning, application development, operation, and support. His positions have included Chief Technology Officer of iReality Group, founder of Prescott Consulting, Inc, Lead Technical Architect directing the Knowledge Management group of Cambridge Technology Partners, Inc, Architect and Project Manager for The Systems Consulting Group, and as the Systems Architect of Workgroup and Internet Strategy for TigerDirect, Inc. He has two patents pending and holds a degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. He is also an active member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Mr. Yuda Saydun has an extensive track record in driving growth and profitability in multi-country operations for technology-based businesses.Yuda joined the company in 2006. He is responsible for the full range of AgCert’s operations, including Origination, Project Implementation, Field Operations, and Client Relations.
Mr. Saydun was most recently President of Genventure Corporation, a private investment and advisory services firm helping technology companies accelerate their expansion initiatives. From 1993 to 2004, he was Senior Vice President, Business Development and Division President at NASDAQ listed Tech Data (NASD: TECD), a US$20 billion wholesale distributor of IT products and services, where he started and built a highly profitable business unit.
Prior to joining Tech Data, Mr. Saydun was a Vice President at American Express. His career includes numerous marketing and general management assignments in Europe, the U.S. and Latin America.
Yuda holds a B.S. in Political Sciences from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and an M.B.A. from U.C.L.A.’s Graduate School of Management.
George Bolton has been actively involved in production agricultural management and sales for the past 35 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and has also obtained the American Society of Agronomy's Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) designation. He has held positions with the international companies Bayer and ICI in agricultural chemical sales and marketing and with Helena Chemical Company in sales and management. While with Helena Chemical Company, he co-developed a new application method for the precision placement of agricultural chemicals and was the developer of the Helena Information System. Mr. Bolton is one of the original founders of AgCert International and has been in charge of producer aggregation from the company’s inception.
Mr. Vazquez brings 30 years of broad industry and consulting experience focusing organizations on implementing strategic business process capabilities. Leveraging training and experience in both business and technology, he has designed and implemented innovative operations process improvements often dependent on creative applications of logistics, science or technology. He has led such operations improvements in large multi-national enterprises across a number of industries. Mr. Vazquez holds a B.S. from Caltech and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Althausen has extensive experience in international investment banking and management consulting. He held positions of Head of International Research at WMP Bank and Head of International Projects at Denkstatt Environmental Management Consultants in Vienna before joining KPMG Consulting’s Financial and Strategic Management Function in 2001. In 2003 Mr. Althausen was hired by the EU Commission to run the privatization and restructuring of the entire state-owned sector in the Gjilan province in the UN-administered Province of Kosovo. Mr. Althausen is responsible for the development of AgCert’s European business activities.
Len Eddy brings 18 years of experience in business management, industrial operations, environmental auditing, and management consulting. He has extensive Canadian and international expertise in environmental auditing, business development, sales and marketing.
Mr. Eddy was a founder member and President of WholeFarm Company Ltd, a company created to provide natural feed supplements to the intensive livestock industry. During the same period, Mr. Eddy was a Director of Pricewaterhousecoopers' ("PwC") Global Risk Management Service and was member of the PwC international practice development team focused on emissions trading. He led practice development of the Canadian greenhouse gas management consulting and acquired a specific expertise developing commercialization strategies for trading greenhouse gas emission products. Other areas of expertise include environmental auditing, earning a Certified Environmental Auditor designation, and he was a member of the management committee operating PwC's IS0 14001 Registrar business. Mr. Eddy has also worked as General Manager of Timberland Consultants, and has other previous experience in industrial operations and government relations. His education includes a BSc (forest science) and an MBA from the University of Alberta.
Ignacio Castillo has over 30 years of experience in water quality and water & wastewater treatment. Prior to joining AgCert, most of his professional career had been as environmental engineering consultant for World Meteorological Organization, Pan American Health Organization and pulp & paper industry, also as Water Quality Manager in National Water Commission and Water and Wastewater Treatment Utilities of Mexico City. Mr. Castillo holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mexico.
Álvaro Palermo has over 10 years of experience in several areas of Finance. Prior to joining AgCert, most of his professional career had been as Regional Controller and Finance Director for F.Hoffmann-La Roche in Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe and Switzerland. Mr. Palermo holds a BS in Economics from the University of São Paulo.
Mr. Steve Petridis has over twenty five years of experience in the design, engineering, procurement and construction of process plants in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Industrial Gas Industries. He is currently focused on accelerating the growth of our TurboGreen Division which provides turnkey solutions to industrial producers to help them reduce their emissions of Green House Gases. He was most recently the President of Romic Environmental Technologies, a West Coast based hazardous waste recycler, and had previously held senior management positions at Shell, Messer, BOC, and Schlumberger. He is multi-lingual and his assignments have taken him to locations throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Steve holds an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management in the UK, a Marketing Diploma from The Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK, an MSc in Power Systems from the University of Manchester, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Salford, also in the UK. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the UK.
